Pairing Champagne and Food – Webinar

Champagne is mostly known as a celebratory wine served to mark special occasions, but it is also a very food-friendly wine. Sommeliers and chefs love working together to pair champagne with main courses, even spicy Indian dishes!

But… not all types of champagnes pair well with all types of foods. The grape varieties used in the blend, the amount of time spent ageing, and the amount of sugar added during disgorgement for example, profoundly impact the taste profile of a champagne. You wouldn’t want to serve a bone dry vintage champagne with a sweet dessert. It would leave a bitter taste in your mouth.

Join Cynthia from Delectabulles for an online video class if you would like to learn why champagne is such a food-friendly wine, what factors affect the taste profile of a champagne, and get recommendations for what type of champagne to serve:

  • For an aperitif
  • With a meal (fish, seafood, poultry, etc.)
  • With cheese
  • With chocolate or cake

You don’t have to pop open a bottle of champagne to benefit from the class, but if you do decide to pour yourself a glass of bubbly during our session, upon registration you will receive a list of optional of foods you could try with your champagne.
