Graffiti may not be a commonly accepted art form.  Yet, when viewed in the environment it is many times found, works of great beauty, as well as cultural, social, and political significance can be found.  There are art jewels to be uncovered and photographed.

In this course, we will consider the temporary nature of graffiti and the possible motivations for creating tableaux that do not last.
Thru photography we will document the current state of graff and streetart practice.  As vast collections of art can cover areas larger than many cameras can capture in a single shot, we will become familiar with image stitching to create panoramas.

Note: Students are encouraged to bring a polarizing filter if their camera lenses are designed to take filters.

Instructor: Christopher Mark Perez is an internationally published photographer (LensWork, PhotoLife, Gimp, and SilverShotz Magazines, as well as several books of Steampunk creations) and competition winner (including The Strobist, and The Center for Fine Art Photography). Christopher recently moved to Paris to connect with creative people in the pursuit of making fine photographic images.
