The red wines of Burgundy are among the most highly regarded in the world, but getting to the good ones involves some intricate navigation.

Almost all of it is expensive, but a much smaller percentage makes you say “Ahh, I see what everyone is talking about!”

Add to this the superficially confusing system of négociant vs. domaine bottled wines; of vineyard-named village wines vs. 1er crus vs. grand crus; Côte de Nuits vs. Haut-Côtes de Nuits vs. Côte de Beaune vs. Haut-Côtes de Beaune … you get the idea.

The reward, if you succeed in sniffing out the best wines and producers, makes the work worth it. Let this tasting tour be your guide.

Instructor: Thomas Boothe's extensive knowledge and passion for wine make him a popular, one-of-a-kind wine instructor. His innovative teaching style has been fueled through work and study in a variety of wine-related fields.
