After the 1917 Russian Revolution, Paris became one of the most important centers of Russian culture outside Russia. On this tour we will explore how Russian émigrés—artists, musicians and aristocrats—shaped the cultural life of the city.

We will begin our tour at the beautiful Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the spiritual heart of the Russian community. From there we will go to the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, where the Ballets Russes revolutionized modern ballet. After that we will continue to the Serge Rachmaninoff Conservatory to learn about the life of the composer in exile.

We’ll finish at Cantine Russe, where you can enjoy an early dinner and discover how Russian culture still lives in Paris today

Veronika was born in Russia and is a native Russian speaker with a deep interest in its culture and history. After spending many years in the United States, she is now settled in Paris and has been living here for the past year and a half. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the city’s rich culture and its many connections to the Russian community.
