WICE member Kate Wolter is organizing a fiber arts outing to Marché Saint-Pierre. Described as the world's largest fabric market, Marché Saint-Pierre is a benchmark and an institution when it comes to fabrics, textiles, and haberdashery.

This is an opportunity for WICE’s sewists and quilters to find fabric (tissu) of any thread. Additionally, we will help with vocabulary of sewing (couture) to make it a bit easier.

There are 6 floors in this store arranged in categories (clothing, projects, home decor, etc.).  And there are dozens of stores all around this quartier (referred to as Saint Pierre), including one with a wooden pool of buttons to choose from!

Mingle with designers, students, decorators who are all there for one reason: fabric creativity.

Afterwards—time permitting—we will go to a local café to discuss the outing and make plans for future activities.

We will meet in front of the colorful Halle Saint Pierre on Rue Ronsard and walk the one block over.

Metro line 2 to Anvers station is most direct. Walk toward Sacré Coeur then make a right (before the climb) and go about a block. The Halle is on the left.
