VA151 Walk through the grounds and forest of Saint Germain en Laye

  • Outside the main entrance to the Château de Saint Germain en Laye. The Gare Saint Germain en Laye is in front of the Château. Take the RER line A to get there.

From the chateau we will walk along the Terrasse (about 30 minutes) and then onto footpaths through the forest (another 90 minutes) before returning to the Chateau. The walk is mostly along level ground and is not strenuous. The Terrasse gives great views of Paris. The forest is well maintained and has a wide range of bird life. The visit will appeal to people who like hiking.

Bryan Harty moved to Paris in 2019 and has been a member of WICE since 2020. He is interested in learning more about French history and society. He loves walking through the countryside.
