Marc Chagall is the featured artist at the Musée de Luxembourg this spring. His colorful work is known for its scenes of his Russian homeland and his Parisian studio in Montparnasse. Inspired by folklore, religion and history, Marc Chagall used a cubist perspective and jewel palette to create tender to violent pictorial narratives.

Beginning with studies of Chagall and his work, participants will learn how to compose an effective visual narrative using photographs, illustrations, and drawings of resources of their own choosing. Drawing from personal experience, family archives, or the daily news, learn to how to tell your own story in a painting.

Both beginners and practiced painters are welcome.

Instructor: Jan Olsson holds a Master of Fine Arts in Drawing and is an engaging teacher with many years of experience teaching. She is also a highly skilled practicing artist who exhibits internationally. See the artist's website at http://janolssonart.com for more information
