Located on the right bank of Paris, the Montorgueil market is situated just north of what was the historical location of the central wholesale marketplace, les Halles.

This bustling pedestrian street remains a very vibrant and ‘French’ place to shop. On this walking tour, we will have the opportunity to explore the whole range of shops from butcher, to fish monger, and to fromagerie, and along the way benefit from our guide’s shopping tips and learn how to fearlessly approach and appreciate the vendors. You will learn about the history and the current vibe of this neighborhood market which is the home of the famous pâtisserie Stohrer and also close to reputed culinary equipment shops.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes for this visit. At the end of the walk if you wish, you may stay on for lunch in one of the numerous cafés or brasseries of the rue Montorgueil. The price of this class does not include any food samples, lunch or coffee after the tour.

Instructor: Françoise Meunier trained in the hotel and cooking school in Toulouse.  In 1997, she opened one of the first private cooking studios in Paris.  Her practical approach and easy-to-follow demonstrations will teach you how to reproduce delicious French and ethnic dishes at home.

Aficionados of wine and great food can take advantage of a special discount on each of three courses by registering for the Gourmet Bundle or the Expat Bundle.

Register for Bundles (and not each course) to access the discount.  Your registration will be recorded for each course.
