Discover the rich and unlimited possibilities of acrylic painting. Learn how to choose the best papers and how to prepare them for painting. And discover how dry media such as graphite, charcoal and pastel intermingle and compliment the fluidity of acrylics. Any subject can be treated using these techniques. A bouquet of flowers, a cityscape, or even an arrangement of simple abstract shapes can become a stunning composition. A black and white photograph can be transformed into an image with beautiful surface texture. A decorative motif such as a spiral can become a swirling labyrinth of layered color.

Come and join in with a congenial group of fellow adventurers and enjoy the process of exploring your creativity as you learn new techniques in contemporary painting. Acrylic paints and preparations are supplied. Students will be responsible for paper, pencils, charcoals and pastels.

Instructor: Jan Olsson holds a Master of Fine Arts in Drawing and is an engaging teacher with many years of experience teaching. She is also a highly skilled practicing artist who exhibits internationally. See the artist's website at http://janolssonart.com for more information.
