Spring time in Paris offers us such a rich palette of colors! In this class, you will learn a simple approach to the visual and technical understanding of the fundamentals of drawing in colour. You will be progressing step by step, drawing from observation, analysing and enriching your palette of possibilities as you work from single to more elaborate subject matters and themes (such as still lives of fruits, copper, lead, wood, plastic). Drawing with the subtle layering of soft compressed coloured pigments (ranging from coloured chalks-similar to pastels), you will refine your eye and reinforce your personal style in texture, pattern, rhythm, light, composition, etc.

Instructor: Claude Pollack received her degree from l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs. She has taught drawing and has worked with sculpture and painting in France and in Italy for theatre and interior decoration. She has also had experience as a film editor as well as a set designer. She has been teaching at WICE over the past 14 years, including the popular Paris Sketchbook series.
