The wines of the Southwest were some of the most sought after wines in the Middle Ages. Now, they’re making a slow but steady comeback. Gaillac, Bergerac, Marcillac, Montbazillac … all the ‘ac’ wines plus the great Cahors, Madiran and Jurançon. We’ll discover alien sounding, but fantastic grapes such as Fer, Tannat, Petit Manseng and Malbec. We’ll also find out that the Southwest wines can be incredible bargains, and their personalities are a fascinating combination of Atlantic (Bordeaux) and Mediterranean (Languedoc and Rhône). Let’s taste.

Instructor:  Thomas Boothe’s, extensive knowledge and passion for wine and his innovative teaching style have been fueled through work and study in a variety of wine-related fields.
