Three Years On Sailboat: A Joyous Confinement!

Leaving England in March 1990 for a six month break from the rat race, British couple Jean and Max Halford-Thompson  ended up spending the following 3 1/2 years living on their 12-meter boat, Matusadona, with their two toddler sons.  They sailed in the Mediterranean and then crossed the Atlantic where they spent time in the Caribbean before exploring the east coast of the USA.
Back on dry land since then, Jean will share with you verbally and visually some of the adventures they experienced, from acting as a dentist in Spain to the "Storm of the Century" in the Bahamas, to dealing with the Mafia in Italy and stopping traffic into Washington (not related!).

About the Presenter: Jean Halford-Thompson started her work life with a group which created a performance platform for music in schools.  She stayed with the group for eight years organizing music festivals before undertaking her seagoing journey. She now lives in the Anjou region of France where she produces hand woven silk shawls and scarves. You can view and buy her work on https://www.jhttextiles.com/
