The name Bordeaux can evoke magic—legendary châteaux, infinite vineyards and some of the finest wines in the world. The region is vast. But just as vast is the range in quality in the wines—from premier crus so sought after that we can no longer afford them to mediocre wine that rides on the reputation of the Bordeaux name alone. We need a guide who can help us sort through the fact and fiction.

Join us this evening as we taste a range of wines (and keep tasting!) to learn more about the true meaning of Bordeaux: St. Emilion, noble rot, petit verdot, Graves, cru bourgeois, two kinds of cabernet, claret, fifth growth … these complicated factors will begin to make sense as we meet a great cast of characters from this highly esteemed region.

Instructor:  Thomas Boothe’s, extensive knowledge and passion for wine and his innovative teaching style have been fueled through work and study in a variety of wine-related fields.
