Did you know that all the red wines from Burgundy (Bourgogne) are made from Pinot noir only? This wine region represents only 5% of the whole French vine surface, but produces almost one-third of its Appellation of Controlled  Origin (AOC) wines.

We will taste five, 1st growth (1er cru) wines with refill. We will talk about the history of this amazing region, explain the different sub regions, understand the influence of its terroirs, unravel the complexity of its classification, and explain the reputation of its wines. Home made nibbles will complement this tasting.

About the Instructor: Hélène Goble comes from a wine-producing family in Bordeaux and organizes wine tasting events and annual wine tours of Bordeaux and Champagne. As well as presenting wines, she will introduce you to the French ’savoir-vivre’ and secrets of wine selection that will leave you impressed. Hélène is a graduate of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust in London.
