Only one hour by train from the Gare de l’Est station, the charming small town of Nogent-sur-Seine recently opened the first ever museum dedicated to the great sculptor Camille Claudel, lover and muse of Auguste Rodin. The museum is housed in both the ancient museum of the artist Alfred Boucher (founder of La Ruche) and the home of the Claudel family.
Founded under the impetus of Alfred Boucher, this museum presents an important collection of 39 sculptures by Camille Claudel as well as masterpieces by late 19th century French sculptors (Rodin, Boucher, Dubois…).
Come and discover this collection of Camille Claudel, who contributed immensely to the history of modern sculpture.
