Ah, Sex!  The subject alternatively fascinates, repels, intrigues, frightens, stimulates, depresses – you name it! But despite the fact that sex is literally all around us, when it comes to talking seriously about their own sexuality, most people are ill at ease. Even a majority of medical and psychology professionals receive little specific training in sexuality issues and can end up handing out pat formulas or nervous reassurances to those who suffer.

Enter the clinical sexologist.  Practitioners of this relatively new profession, who are specifically trained to treat problems relating to sex, can make a world of difference.  But HOW? you may ask!  These professionals have spent years learning about the many complex aspects of human sexuality and know how to address such matters in a safe and respectful manner.  Our instructor, about to finish a doctorate in sexology, will tell us how she got trained in this delicate subject and what it’s like to talk to people about sex for a living.

Rachel Mark is a therapist and clinical sexologist in private practice in Paris.  She is currently completing her dissertation for her doctorate in Human Sexuality at Widener University.  Working with a wide range of relationship and sexuality-related concerns, Rachel’s passion is helping her clients understand their sexuality more deeply in order to find fulfillment in their lives both individually and with their partner.
