Course Description

Most of the time people buy cameras with either too many or not enough capabilities instead of choosing one that fits their needs.

This workshop is aimed at photographers who are looking to change or upgrade their current equipment. You will learn about the differences between cameras,
 lenses, flashes, tripods, etc. to choose your gear proficiently. You will gain the necessary tools to choose photography gear that’s more adapted to you and your practice.
 

Students can expect to:

  • Learn about photography equipment
  • Understand the differences between gear capabilities
  • Identify their gear needs based on their own photography use

About the Instructor

Juan Manuel Abellán graduated in advertising and completed his training as a photographer in Barcelona at the Institute of Design and Image (IDEP) where he worked with Italian photographer Luca Pagliari. Juan Manuel has worked in advertising agencies in London, such as Saatchi & Saatchi, McCann-Ericksson, and Grey Worldwide. He then moved to Paris, where he became the assistant to photographers such as Laure Vasconi, Xavier Lucchesi, and Ariadna Bufi. He has collaborated with Tendance Floue, and has worked for Daylight Photo Studio and the agency Magnum Photos. Juan Manuel currently lives and works in Paris as a freelance photographer.
