Paris When It Flickers
Part II
Seminar by Vincent Fournois
The second seminar of this two-part series, will focus on Paris in American films. Have you ever wondered about the American film industry's fascination with the French capital? Is it Paris's beauty or something subtle that attracts American filmmakers?
We will explore these questions and many more as we begin this seminar discussing the relationship between American artists during the early years of the film industry and then move onto an analysis of the various ways the “City of Lights” has been portrayed in Hollywood and in Indie films. Together we will discover what inspires this intimate and timeless relationship.
Instructor: Vincent Fournols is a Parisian born and raised movie buff. Since childhood, he has seen, registered and analyzed about 4000 different films. For the past couple of years, he has lectured several times at the SKEMA business school on changing the perspective of looking at movies.
For the past twenty years, he has worked in Corporate Banking IT. He travels extensively, which affords him the opportunity to catch up on local films.
