WICE is a membership organization run by members for members. A talented group of volunteers contribute to keeping the organization flourishing. Their work, dedication and interests make WICE a vibrant and dynamic organization. New volunteers are always needed and welcome. Areas in which our volunteers contribute include marketing and communications, office administration, member & community relations, volunteer management, website and database maintenance, curriculum development and management.

Volunteer Application

3. Upon receipt of your completed application, we will contact you to schedule an interview to discuss your interests, talents and availability, and to provide you with more information about our current opportunities.

Volunteering positions require WICE membership. Membership in the association is required for all levels of participation. However, new volunteers receive a 50% discount on their first adhesion, and will be renewed free of charge as long as they remain an active volunteer in the association. Would you like to exercise your technical skills in English and volunteer to support a diverse non-profit organization?

The Paris-based adult education center WICE (Where Internationals Connect in English), is currently building a small team of internet technology-savvy volunteers including an overall Systems Coordinator to help with the following projects:

  • Administration of content management systems, network access system
  • LAN administration with external partner
  • Administration of Google cloud tools, Google Workspace accounts and security
  • Database administration and tools training
  • Support for Operations and Programs teams

We are seeking discussion group facilitators in, English and French.

You will work as a team with other facilitators leading the group once every two or three weeks.

Select an interesting topic for the group to discuss and then guide a discussion by asking questions and ensuring an environment where group members feel comfortable expressing themselves. Help group members expand their cultural and language knowledge by providing cultural insights and clarification on vocabulary, slang, and pronunciation to help advanced students gain fluency and speaking confidence in a fun and relaxed environment.

In addition to our traditional groups that meet in our classroom, we are also creating on-line discussion groups that would allow you to volunteer for this role without leaving home

The Accounting Assistant works closely with the WICE Treasurer to import financial data into Quickbooks on a weekly basis (2 hours a week in the WICE Office). Training on internal systems will be provided. Previous experience with Quickbooks is required.

To cater to the diversity of our membership, we are seeking 1-3 people to organise and host cross-cultural events everyone could engage in ie, hosting a British High Tea. The hours needed to volunteer fluctuate (and could be tailored to a certain extent) throughout the year depending on when events would be hosted, ensuring they fit around other WICE offerings. While there are no essentials skills or minimum training required, those who love organising social activities and would like to share their cultural background are encouraged to apply.

As part of the IT support group in WICE, this position works closely with the WICE Programs team, including the Program Manager and Department Coordinators and Office Manager.

Job Description:

  • Create and update courses and events on Wild Apricot from information provided by program directors
  • Create, update and schedule customize automated emails
  • Set up event meetings in Zoom and monitor for conflicts
  • Provide Zoom links to Department Coordinators
  • Create and/or update the course loading event submission form each trimester
  • Provide guidance to the program/event coordinators in preparing the events
  • Work can be done remotely, however you must have a reliable internet connection and computer

Required Skills:

  • Comfortable working with technology
  • Strong writing & editing skills in English
  • Ability to communicate well in a team environment
  • Internet connection is required

An advantage to have:

  • Experience in database management
  • Project planning skills
  • Knowledge of basic HTML

Time commitment:

  • Typically 1 hour per day, 4 or 5 days per week for a total of 5 hours per week with up to 10 hours a week during weeks leading up to new trimesters.
  • Flexible to work from home and the WICE office from time to time or when required (when the office reopens).

Start/End date of Position:

Immediate. Long term - minimum six months or longer, preferably one year or longer
