WICE is one of the oldest Anglophone organizations in Paris. For more than 35 years, this non-profit association has been offering cultural and educational programs to the international and expat community in Paris. Day-to-day operations are supported by a dedicated group of volunteers, diverse in age and nationality.
A Bit of HistoryWICE was founded in 1978 as the Women’s Institute of Continuing Education. The aim of the “Institute" as it was then called was to provide courses to help women get (back) into the workplace. Originally affiliated with the American University of Paris, WICE grew quickly welcoming men and women, attracting short-term visitors to the city as well as permanent residents. WICE continues to change with the times, though its mission is still primarily educational, and in keeping with its Anglophone roots, the majority of courses and events offered are in English.
