Every good artist first learns the rules in order to break them successfully. In this course, we will review composition, lighting, motion, and post-production techniques. Then, with creative and experimental spirit (and wild abandon!), we will take on challenging assignments to break the rules and expand the boundaries of photography as art. The course includes friendly critique of work in class, as well as hands-on practice (field work as weather permits). You'll come away with strong technical tools and a new-found appreciation for the different ways to approach the art of photography.

All levels of photographers are welcome.

Students can expect to:

  • become more familiar with their camera;

  • learn about exposure, composition, and post-production techniques;

  • have their technical questions answered directly;

  • participate in a friendly critique session of their work.

Instructor: Meredith Mullins is a popular photo instructor and fine-art photography mentor, an internationally exhibited photographer and a winner of international photography competitions, including the Grand Concours Photo sur Paris, PX3 Competition, Julia Margaret Cameron Award, and Worldwide Gala Photo Awards.
