This course is aimed at photo enthusiasts who want to develop their artistic sensitivity and explore fine art photography.


During the workshop, you will study the photographic narrative, concept, style, and purpose of your personal work. Students will analyze their own images and also review new trends in contemporary photography, without forgetting about the great photography masters.


Students can expect to:

  • learn about fine art photography;

  • gain the necessary tools to develop their work;

  • critique their own work.


Course requirements


Suitable for advanced photographers.  Participants are to bring a camera that can manually set ISO, shutter speed, and aperture.



Instructor: Juan Manuel Abellán graduated in Advertising and Visual Arts and holds a Master in Contemporary Photography. He has worked with the agency Magnum Photo and exhibited his work in several exhibitions, including at the Centre Georges Pompidou. Passionate about photography, Juan Manuel works as a freelance photographer with a specialization in portrait, reportage and fine art photography. He looks forward to sharing his secrets with WICE members.
