Smart Devices as Tools of Creative Expression
Part II
Thursday, 12 March 2015
2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Workshops by Nancy Jochimek & Alastair Arthur
This workshop, a second in a series of four, focuses on the most popular feature of smart devices -- the smart camera.
This workshop will introduce you to fun, easy-to-use photo editing applications that will get you started on achieving your own personal photography style. We will discuss the benefits of these applications and how various photographers have used them in their work. We will then focus on photo sharing and how this form of creative communication has opened up many business opportunities and has further expanded current markets for established businesses. We will introduce you to various photo sharing and community applications that you can further explore.
For the second half of the workshop we will get practical and go on a photowalk around the famous Bir Hakim Bridge. Before heading out, we will present creative exercises that you can explore. While on our tour we will demonstrate the various ways a particular subject can be photographed and how you can enhance your photos using the photo editing applications we introduced you to. We will then regroup at a local café for a cup of coffee and to review your photos together.
NOTE: While this is a four-part series, you can register for any workshop. Each workshop is designed to provide an overall understanding of smart cameras from various perspectives. We have prepared indoor photowalk locations in the event of heavy rain, which we will inform about when necessary. In the event of drizzle, we will not change the location given the beautiful effect of rain in photography. Drinks at the cafes are not included in the workshop fee.
Please bring either your smartphone or tablet to each seminar. Both Apple and Android devices are welcome.
