Session 4: Balenciaga Retrospective
This is a unique opportunity to see the glamorous fashions produced by the Spanish designer, Cristobal Balenciaga. The Spanish royal family, Barbara Hutton, Ava Gardner and Mona Bismarck were among his clients, and his friends included Cecil Beaton and Coco Chanel. His rival, Christian Dior, said he was "the master of us all.” The clothes he designed are famous for their extraordinary sculptural shapes, colors and trims which come from his Spanish roots. This retrospective, coordinated by Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director of Balenciaga, will give us a glimpse of 160 of Balenciaga’s creations.
