An Evening with Thirza Vallois
"It all began with a riot of wisteria," as does my book. If it hadn't been for the glorious wisteria on that dazzling afternoon, I would have never met Georges and Odette and, in all likelihood, would have never set foot in the Aveyron, let alone write a book about it.
After decades of devotion to Paris, I now found myself light years away from sophisticated Paris, furrowing through "la plus profonde de toutes les Frances profondes", a timeless corner of France where prehistoric ancientness and cutting-edge modernity live side by side and where man and his soil live in total symbiosis. I assume you can tell I have "caught the Aveyronnais bug". You might do too, if you head there. Provided you take your time to explore it slowly."
Thirza Vallois has lived in Paris for over 40 years as student, wife, mother and professional. She holds several post-graduate degrees from the Sorbonne, including the most prestigious agrégation. She is the author of the internationally acclaimed Around and About Paris series, Romantic Paris, and the Paris entry to the Encarta Encyclopaedia. Thirza Vallois lectures worldwide and contributes to television, radio and various publications.
