PLEASE NOTE : 
  • Only apply if you are currently living in Paris
  • Positions are only open to applicants who can commit to a minimum of six months - 1 year
  • WICE membership is required for Director and Deputy Director roles
  • Time commitment required varies for each position but on average 3-4 hours each week with some availability during business hours
  • Some work may be completed at home but time "on-site" will also be required
  • WICE is closed in summer - July and August

CULTURAL STUDIES DEPUTY DIRECTOR


The Cultural Studies department offers a variety of programs covering art and culture -- past, present and “beyond” France


Job Description: As a member of the Cultural Studies Team, you will share responsibility for the ongoing management and administration 

of WICE courses. This includes assisting with course development, their scheduling and promotion, and monitoring and evaluating courses

at their completion;


Qualifications: Candidates preferably have an interest in art, culture and education. Experience with MS Office and Google Docs a plus.

Note: WICE membership is required for this role.


Time Commitment: 4 to 6 hours per week.


Start/End Date of Position: This position is currently open. Ideally, candidates should be available for at least one year


GRAPHIC DESIGNER


The Marketing Department supports WICE in growing their membership and programs. We embrace new ideas, vibrant and

positive members to our team. Our marketing team coordinates digital content on social media platforms and their website,

manage advertisements,  create promotional collateral, and manage events for WICE members and volunteers.


Job Description: 
  • Assist with graphics for email blasts and website images
  • Prepare promotional material for classes and events
  • Visual creations for advertising needs
  • Other graphic work as needed

Qualifications:


  • Access to and well-versed in Photoshop or similar software (Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, GIMP)
  • Excellent eye for detail and design
  • Knowledge Microsoft Office
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Photography skills and knowledge of social media is a plus
  • Please submit samples of your work

Time Commitment:


  • Working remotely with occasional meetings with the team
  • Approximately 2-3 hours per week, may vary at busy times
  • Role has huge potential for the right candidate to take on more responsibility/ hours per week

Start/End Date of Position: Available immediately.



MARKETING DIRECTOR

The Marketing Director is responsible for developing and implementing the marketing strategy for the organization.The Marketing Director is a member of the WICE Board of Directors, reports to the WICE President

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement a strategically developed marketing plan to grow and retain membership and strengthen WICE’s presence in Paris’s international community.
  • Establish with the board of directors a vision for the organization and prioritize the marketing of programs and activities in alignment with the vision
  • Manage and engage a team of volunteers who carry out the marketing plan through social and traditional media, special events, the WICE newsletter and partnerships.
  • Work with members of the board of directors to help each member establish a more public ambassador role for WICE. Provide marketing assistance to the Programs Department to help publicize WICE programs
  • Align the work of the Marketing Department with Membership and work closely with the Membership Director to accomplish marketing and membership goals.

Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in marketing and communication
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage a team of marketing volunteers
  • Willingness to commit to the time requirements for this role

Note: WICE membership is a requisite of this role

Time Commitment: 8 to 16 hours a week. Some work can be done at home but “onsite” presence will be necessary at times. The roe would not be suitable for someone working full time.

Start/End Date of Position:This position is currently open. Candidates should be able to commit to at least 12 months.


WEBSITE COURSE CONTENT EDITOR

Do you have experience with web publishing? This role will require you to work closely with the web editor, webmaster, and the WICE Programs team to ensure accuracy and consistency of information content and design.

Primary Duties

  • Proofreading course content information before it is “made live”
  • Maintaining and updating the Style Guide
  • Periodically looking over the site to ensure text and images are correct/up to date. (Shared with Operations Director)
  • Liaise with Program Directors to ensure text and images for the sections are correctly loaded
  • Training of new volunteers

Required skills:

  • Experienced with use of Google Mail and Google Docs, Google sheets etc.
  • Strong writing & editing skills
  • Experience writing for the web
  • Fluency in English and aware of the differences between English and American spelling, usage and punctuation

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of basic HTML and/or web authoring-tools
  • Background in marketing or communications.

Time commitment: Average 4-5 hours per week.More hours at the busy course loading times May:June and late August/early September Flexibility to work at home

Start/End date of Position: Immediate start. Long term - minimum six months commitment but longer is preferred

Events Manager

 

You will be part of the Marketing department.

 

Tasks:

  • Plan, organize, coordinate and promote the WICE Open House and/or Spring Launch which

take place in Spring and Fall

  • Promote WICE at local events in September in the current year to October the following

year (4-7 events)

  • Input event information on the WICE website
  • Keep track of event attendance data and produce short reports for larger events
  • Assist with related event marketing tasks as needed

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience organizing or managing events
  • Excellent people skills
  • Professional attitude
  • Ability to stay focused, proactive and handle responsibility
  • Ability to delegate
  • Can adhere to deadlines
  • Computer literacy - ability to navigate a back office a plus
  • A strong desire to put your skills to use volunteering
  • French language skills a plus but not required

 

Start/End Date of Position:

Open House: Must be available full-time in September and at least on a part- time basis in late August and early October. Candidates wishing to continue volunteering after this time may do so.

Spring Launch: Must be available on a part- time basis in January and February. Candidates wishing to continue volunteering after this time may do so.
