Good photographs are a powerful balance of art and technique. Solid technical knowledge is important, but a personal way of looking at the world and an emotional connection with what you’re photographing are key to a memorable photograph.

This course is meant for photographers who have some technical background (or have taken another WICE photo course before), so that we can focus on the development of the artistic technique in photography.

This course will strengthen your personal style of expression and will include practical in-class exercises, visits to exhibitions, in-the-field shooting, discussion of vintage and contemporary photography, review of basic post-production techniques and tackling assignments that challenge the creative soul. The final project will include an exhibition and/or book of the class work.

Instructor:  Meredith Mullins is an internationally exhibited photographer and popular photography instructor; a winner of the 2009 Grand Concours Photo sur Paris, 2010 PX3 Competition, and 2010 Worldwide Gala Photo Awards; a finalist for the 2010 Julia Margaret Cameron Award; and author of the award-winning book “In a Paris Moment.”
